This month’s challenge is all about Garnet — January’s birthstone. Rich, deep, and full of warmth, garnet-colored creations are perfect for starting the year with style and sparkle.

Here’s how to join in:

  1. Make something garnet-colored. It could be a cozy scarf, an amigurumi, a cute accessory, or any creation inspired by the deep red hues of garnet.
  2. Post a journal on the January Challenge Submission Pattern here!
  3. Share your journal in the comments below

Entries close January 31st

On February 5th, Ribbot will pick his top 3 favorite garnet creations! Each winner will receive 5 gems!

We can’t wait to see your rich, radiant, and remarkable garnet-colored makes. Let’s kick off 2026 with some color and creativity!

Good luck,

Team Ribblr :purple_heart:

Can I just use red yarn?

Do your best to aim for the color but in the red family works!

Everytime I hear Garnet i legit think of Garnet from Steven’s Universe… :sob: idk if that’s bad, but I may actually try to see if I make something (I have a lot of red/garnet beads so ideas are processing.)

How fun! I actually have yarn that’s perfect for this challenge! It’s color is Garnet  I’ll definitely see if I have the time to make something

Garnet is found in more colours than just red, are we only limited to red? I’ve been given Garnet pieces that were red, orange, or brown, and am now feeling like the orange and brown wouldn’t be allowed based on that mood board? Pls explain because my birth stone isn’t just red and when it is, it isn’t THAT kind of red so now I’m very confused and upset

I believe it has to be red!
