@Amberklaw Just a quick heads-up that making a pattern of a movie character is copyright infringement, so your pattern will be taken down upon release! :sparkling_heart:

Unless it’s just for personal use, please don’t make any Pokémon patterns—stick to your own original ideas instead!! :two_hearts:

Ah thank you!! I though not using the trademarked name (describing the character) and it being a free pattern might get me around copyright as I know other creators sometimes do.

I’d looooove to see a Sylveon pattern or a Vaporeon/Jolteon pattern. I see a lot of Eevee and Umbreon patterns, occasionally a leafeon or Flareon, but never any of sylveon, Vaporeon, or Jolteon. Also, bulbasaur and its evolutions would be nice. Or Charmander. I always see the base Pokemon, not their evolutions.

Also, be careful of copyright. Nintendo can be harsh with that sorta stuff…

A dragon base would be lovely but also including how to make additions to it (fins, claws horns, spikes) and maybe different wing shapes or options for more limbs or more heads, double tails, more wings, etc. Maybe include different dragon types from around the world, like the western dragon, eastern dragon, wyverns, drakes, hydras, wyrms, etc. You typically only see western and eastern dragons.

If you go through with this, good luck and I’d love to be tagged in testers or releases? although testers I may not be able to participate in.

Unfortunately no. Sorry! :sparkling_heart:

Even if you rename it and offer it as a free pattern, it is still copyright infringement because the design itself is still clearly Pokémon! :growing_heart:

Sylveon, Vaporeon, and Espeon are definitely at the top of my list for eeveelution patterns. They get a lot of love, just not as much in the crochet world.

Thank you for all your opinions though, I’ll definitely keep them in mind when I eventually close this poll :)

I often see people create Pokémon patterns where they just add a little twist, like a Christmas hat or shaping Pikachu into a donut.

Even if they share the pattern for free and call it something like a ‘mouse donut,’ it’s still unmistakably Pikachu at heart. :growing_heart:
Because the original design and name belong to Pokémon, it’s still technically a copyright issue, even when done with the best intentions! :two_hearts:

It’s really sad because most of the copyrighted patterns are paid, so fans often buy them without knowing that it shouldn’t be allowed! :sparkling_heart:

If you happen to come across any copyrighted patterns on Ribblr, feel free to report them so Ribblr can sort it out. It is also best to report copyrighted patterns on other websites to prevent their further spread! :sparkling_heart:
