I need someone to rant to about the Joann closure…. I’ll try not to bring the mood down. I got a gift card for Christmas and after seeing the state of my local Joann decided it would be time to use it. They didn’t have what I wanted in store and decided to order it online with some other items. Headed home, and was all ready to order just to find out Joann’s doesn’t accept gift cards online at this time. I guess I’ll have to head in person a different day and spend it on what I can find in store. I’m trying to hold out until we hear the decision but it’s tough. I’m sorry if anyone here works there and is unknown of the state of their job, so sad for the community all around

It was always my go to as well! Definitely recommending heading to the store asap just in case so you can use the gift card.
As of right now, Gordon Brothers is the current bidder which would most likely liquidate the store if they obtain it. Waiting for the hearings this week and hoping for good news.

I listened to a Youtuber the other day and she was in store and they wouldn’t take her gift card in the store either.

For official statements from Joann check out https://www.joannrestructuring.com/ they just released a statement about setting a motion for closing about 60% of locations. If the motion is approved, could see stores running out-of-business sales starting Saturday. Better than no Joann stores, but not great news for a lot of people

I checked the store closure list and my local store is not on it but the two other cities near me, those stores are on the list

My closest store (about a 30 minute drive away) isn’t closing thankfully, but they’re closing 7 out of the 14 in my state

While look at the list only 2 in my state are closing and both cities are 4 or more hours away so i will still have a Joans where i live!!!

You are lucky! I live in the area of Texas they are closing a ton, so it is unlikely I will go to Joanns again. Unless it’s for store closing sales
