Spiral Bloom Coaster
An original crochet design by vroomFR:
Materials
• Worsted weight cotton yarn (any color)
• 4.0 mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
Instructions
Round 1 – Center Ring
• Ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.
• Ch 2 (counts as dc), work 11 dc into ring. Join with sl st to top of ch‑2. (12 dc)
Round 2 – Spiral Loops
• Ch 3, skip next dc, sc in next dc. Repeat around. (6 chain‑loops)
Round 3 – First Petal Layer
• In each chain‑loop: (sc, dc, tr, dc, sc). Creates rounded petals.
Round 4 – Offset Loops
• Working behind petals, sl st into skipped dc from Round 2.
• Ch 4, skip next dc, sl st into following skipped dc. Repeat around.
Round 5 – Second Petal Layer
• In each new chain‑loop: (sc, dc, tr, tr, dc, sc). These petals sit behind the first layer, giving a spiral bloom effect.
Finishing
• Fasten off, weave in ends.
• Steam lightly to flatten if needed.
