Because a thousand words don’t echo like a final few
And the words that I had whispered weren’t exactly what I’d written
When I ran short on all I had to say to you
It’s colder than the pacific the day before it rains
But when it rains, nothing smooths over the sand
Our own words fall like broken bottles on the shoreline

It’s a cold, barren wasteland
In this town they call redemption
