XL Dog Bootie pattern-Not traditional style

Hi friends​:purple_heart:

I have a senior German Shepherd with incredibly sensitive paws, I have tried every dog shoe on the market, and unfortunately they all have the same problem, you have to slide your dog’s foot inside, which is our problem. Our old guy just won’t have it, so I need a crochet pattern for a dog bootie/shoe/slipper where his paw can set on it with a flap that goes over the top, or wraps around and up his leg somehow, it’s just gotta be secure to his foot, not move around a bunch or fall off.

I’m at a complete loss as I’ve never really created a pattern and I’ve been trying for days, to no avaiI… I have crippling ADHD paired with cptsd… I feel like I’m chasing my own tail & I’m frustrated and sad for my boy, cuz he can’t walk on the cold icy ground without some protection, so he’s had no walks for awhile :pensive_face:- it’s time I ask for some support​:face_holding_back_tears: Thank you in advance to everyone that takes the time to help a sister out :nazar_amulet::purple_heart::lotus::infinity::heart_hands:t3:

have you tried crochet socks? skinny socks.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and give me a suggestion​:blue_heart:…I have tried socks, but the problem is having to get his paws inside of the socks, especially by myself, he fights me, he’s not aggressive by any means, but he really doesn’t like it cuz it hurts him and he’s an old guy I don’t want to give him anymore discomfort.

I really thought I could find a pattern or at least combine a couple patterns to get what I need, lol. The pattern suggested below, is one I’ve been working, but when it gets to the hdc’s, assuming I have followed instructions correctly, it onstarts going wonky and I can’t get it my brain to work through it, you know

I’ve actually been working this pattern but I keep running into problems. Although this is a different platform than where I got the pattern from and there were no comments regarding adjusting or anything so I’m going to check this out and keep my fingers crossed that it works!!:crossed_fingers:t3::crossed_fingers:t3::crossed_fingers:t3:
