Hey I was just curious after Joann’s closed I was just curious what yarn everybody uses/switched too whether in store or online. FYI I pretty much only make plushies.

Tbh? I kinda just use whatever is cheapest that I like working with . I still have a pretty big stash of Big Twist, but I’ve used Yarn Bee from Hobby Lobby.
Wal-Mart has their own line of yarn from their in house brand called Main Stays. I would put it on par if not just below with big twist. It’s soft, doesn’t pill, and it doesn’t tend to split as much (in my experience anyways). They also have a lot of different yarn varieties as well like chenille and super chunky blanket yarn. That being said, I have difficulty finding colors outside of your standard primary palette for worsted weight. Allegedly they have over 60 different colors of basic colored worsted weight yarn but I haven’t personally seen it. I do like their sparkley yarn though.
I know @Islandrosecrafts likes Red Heart and more or less exclusively uses it. I’ve only ever had 1 skein of red heart and while it is a lot more coarse it wasn’t bad. It’s more starchy so it doesn’t split nearly as often.

If you liked the big twist posh, Michaels is carrying it now. Just a few colors, but will be added as they make it

I tend to like yarn offered by my LYS, or online at Jimmy Beans Wool. They do not sell the yarns most Ribblrs mention but the more pricey kinds like Madeline Tosh. I don’t buy very often as it is very expensive. I have a boatload of yarn in our storage locker which is a couple miles north of us.
