YouTube tutorial question

Hi! I have a question for anyone who likes to watch crochet pattern tutorials on YouTube. Do you like to see every row, or do you prefer a jump?

I have a crochet YouTube channel and I’m struggling to figure out the best way to deal with repetitive rows. For example, I’m working on a headband pattern now for beginners. Would you prefer to see 5 of the same row or to see it once and then the video jumps to the 5 rows completed. If you do like to see all 5 rows crocheted do you prefer music playing in the background or continuous talking?

Thanks in advance! I’m new to the whole YouTube thing and I’m trying to figure out what people like to see :blush: any other suggestions are welcome too!

id say do jumps for rows that are the same, and YES definitely put background music
ive seen many quite rude comments on videos without background music so thats definitely a great idea lol

I think it being on the screen at one time is good! Then you can pause it and see it all there are once.
Also you should do music–unless there is something you want to talk about for the next step.
And make sure you fast forward through the repetitive parts otherwise your video will be SO long.

Thanks! Yes, I’m so scared about the videos being too long. I’m trying to balance out where to cut and where to fast forward. I’m glad to know people prefer that so I’m not trying to export a crazy long video haha

I like it when its a combination of jump and like a few seconds of crochet. I always want to have time pause!

Thanks! The needing time to pause makes a lot of sense! I’ll definitely add a few seconds of crochet before the jumps

I’d say speed up your proces/jump if it’s the same for 5 rows and I like talking with a really quiet music. But this is just my preference​:smiling_face:

I recommend doing a jump, but like show one round or a little bit of a round

Yea, it’s sad that there are so unsensitive ppl who don’t care abt the effort putted in these vids.
