So I made a youtube channel as most of you know and I am SO excited to start posting, BUT I need to come up with some tutorials you all would like to see! I already have a no-sew chicken that I will be filming, but what are some other things you all are interested in?
I am still working on my film setup and have to get a mic, but I am hoping in the next month I will be able to roll out a few videos! I am also working on some free patterns for Ribblr!
I also want to thank you all so much for always being so supportive of me and my shop and for being patient as well. I get really excited with new ideas, but sometimes I can overwhelm myself with too much and then don’t know where to start.
This year I am focusing on slowing down and focusing on one thing at a time. I also have to be ok with not meeting all of my expectations I have upon myself and not beating myself up. What are you all working on? What is something you are excited about? <3
Really excited for your YouTube journey! Definitely understand about not meeting every expectation, just remember even if it’s not the best you can only improve but you can’t improve if you stop trying, so don’t let it stop you from continuing
I think a tutorial specifically on how you do embroidery on amigurumi faces would be good, that way you can add it to your patterns!
Thank you so much, Kaylee! You always know just what to say! <3 Oooh, great idea! What pattern do you think I could use as an example? Like what types of faces, etc?
What’s your channel link so we can check it out? Ive also started my YT channel recently. Im just committing myself to do end of month round ups of what ive been making so far. I got all excited thinking i could do tutorials and suchlike but it turns out thats really hard and you need to know how to edit it all together. Ive just not fouthe time for those. Also i lost my nice filming spot on the sofa.
Of course! I have trouble with motivation when my results aren’t what I envisioned Just need to remember that I need to keep working on it if I want to get there
I think any free pattern you have would do, or perhaps not even a pattern just something to show the embroidery on the crochet with (with the main color/yarn being obvious to see the stitches and against the colored yarn you plan to embroider), specially how you do the noses and maybe eyes I think also how you position crochet pieces as you crochet them on the body could be a good tutorial too
Well it is great that you are making videos nonetheless! Yes, I agree it has proved be a lot more work that I thought! Setting everything up and making sure it looks good and you can see everything in frame and then adding in all of the rounds in text haha! It is hard work, but I am determined!
I think a true ‘welcome to crochet’ video would be great! Like an introduction to basic stitches and the basic materials someone would need to get started if they wanted to start on the cheap.
A really strong intro video for who you are and what you’re all about, maybe showing off some of your plushie designs.

I’m trying really hard to finish off my old wips and overdue tests. I even set myself a minimum of finishing 2 wips before I pick up a new test (Because I am aware I have a problem. XD)
Yeah, just remembering that not everything will come perfectly without practice is something I have to keep in mind. I have always just rushed into things and not taken the time to perfect or practice.
Alrighty, I will write some notes and plan a video for embroidery and sewing pieces on. I do have quite a lot of patterns that require sewing so I will pick one of those as an example. Maybe a dragon pattern I’ve been working on!
Great recommendations! Thank you! My whole reason for this is to inspire others to create themselves, whatever that may be, so these ideas are great! I do however worry that I am not the best person to introduce crochet to a beginner haha! I still have so much to learn, but I think just showing some basics on amigurumi would be cool?
Haha, well it sounds like you have a plan though! Sometimes things can pile up and become overwhelming and stressful and I have definitely been learning to just breathe and take one thing at a time and eventually it will all get done! Don’t beat yourself up, it’ll all work out in the end!
Haha! I want to make speckled one next with chenille home slim yarn! They are so much fun to make!
Here is the pattern by the way! It has chickens and all kinds of other bird options! I just added a new option for the feet in the tutorial and sort of changed up the comb and tail as well. I might end up going in and editing this pattern now that I have improved on some things. We will see!
I do! It’s part of my new years’ resolutions. I’ve also decided I want to design one pattern per month and stream at least once per week. ^-^
I think you’re better for it than you think you are. Maybe a video talking about how you came into it and what you started with.
Another video style I like watching is material and tool comparisons. Like, if you have tried multiple types of yarn or hooks, or how you change your methodology with different yarns, or what your favorite yarn to work with is
That’s amazing! I wish you the best along the way!
Aw, well thank you! I will write all these ideas down and get to work! Haha! I love watching those types of videos too. I also just love watching crochet vlogs.
