a story of mine. (christian crafters)

heya christian crafters!
im here to tell a little story for those who feel afraid;

so earlier at 5pm i went to this pizza place near the beach, we ordered our pizza, ate it there and went into the car to go to the next place. here’s me remembering i ate a little too much, and i start to get a tummy ache. tummy aches usually give me anxiety & stress, and so in the car i start to feel sick and held onto my stomach. my anxiety starts to raise and my sister, her friend and my sister’s friend’s pop start to notice it. they were worried, but i was more anxious and afraid of throwing up. i decided to call my mom because she was the only one i could rely on. she picked up the phone and asked me “whats wrong?” - i was so shaky and felt so sick to my stomach that i thought i was gonna throw up. my sister tells her “she doesnt feel well and she’s really upset.” and i start to sob my heart out just because of how sick i felt to my stomach. i said “mom, i dont want to throw up” my body starts to numb up and i didnt know what to do or say.
she said to me “honey, i know its hard, but if you feel like you need to throw up, then you should just let it all out”. i said i was afraid to, but she responded “darling, you will be okay. your anxiety may be getting really bad, but you need to control it. just know that God hasn’t given you a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind. just trust in God, darling, and breathe in and out and you will be okay. if you need to throw up, its just the body’s way of telling you that you mightve had a little too much food, but God made us all this way and sometimes we need to throw up, but he doesnt want you to be afraid.” - i felt better and i knew i trusted my mom, but she reminded me to trust in God.

so if you ever feel afraid, refer to this very special bible verse;
2 Timothy 1:7 - “for God hath not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.” - this verse always makes me feel better.

just know that you are not alone, and God is here with you. with us all. :heart: :people_hugging:

I love this story maple :two_hearts: so sweet, also did you know that the phrase “do not be afraid” is repeated 365 times in the Bible. How many days are in a year? 365. Basically saying not to be afraid any day :two_hearts:(idk if this is accurate I saw it on a reel :sob: but yeah : < )

Thank you for sharing! Im glad you were okay. Trusting in the Lord is very key and a good thing to think about. Actually last year’s theme for the youth in my church was Phillipians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” So yea I can relate :blush::purple_heart:

Yours are a good story! When i was in the USA with my bestfriend and her dad i was naturally pretty homesick since i live on the other side of the world and wouldn’t see my parents for two weeks i would spend most nights crying myself too sleep but dad taught me psalm 23 begore i went ( I don’t know it in English just in Swedish lol) but when it got bad i would just repeat it too myself and jt would instantly calm me
Anyways i have babbled on long enough now

I also use Psalm 23 to soothe anxiety. Even something as mundane as sitting in the dentist chair waiting to get a filling done. I usually have to repeat it 3 times. By the 3rd time, I’m pretty relaxed.

Sweetheart, eventhough I am not a christian, raised as a muslim. I believe in Jesus, GOD, doing good and the highest love for all humanity, no matter what they believe in or not. As long as they have a good heart. No one is perfect, yet we all are equal.

I just wanted to pop in to thank you for sharing this amazing post and psalm.
And also because I have dealt with anxiety and panic attacks my whole life (december I will turn 42)
I understand how you feel and the strenght you have is incredible.
As you say and your mom; “Let it out”. When you fight against something, any feeling for that matter; It gets stronger.
When you try, no matter how hard it feels at that moment, to say to yourself;
“I don’t like it, but I allow it”.
You get your power back 1 step at a time.
that is how I overcame a lot in my life.
Hope you all apply this in your lives.
And when you pray; Thank the LORD as if the situation you struggle with, has already been resolved. Being Grateful is your gift to GOD, HIS gifts for you is in every single breathe you inhale and exhale and the pause in between.

Grateful for you all. You all are amazing.
With my humble regards,
Emine Pala Pazan

I love this so much. I got to seminary, which is an early morning religion class for LDS high schoolers. We read from the Book Of Mormon, and today we read Alma 7:11. It states “And he shall go forth, suffering pans and afflictions and temptations of every kind…” it talks about christs sacrifice for us and how through him we can be healed and find strength. I find this verse super useful sometimes :)
I totally recommend reading The Book Of Mormon to everyone, even if you already have, or you aren’t LDS :) you can find it on the Gospel Library app :)
