can someone make easier patterns for adhders I know its not just me
i know the feeling. I have had ADD since childhood, did not get diagnosed till my 40s. Realized I made up games when I was a kid to get stuff done and I still do some of them despite being on medication.
Since, you are going to live with condition, try to look up some tips for ADD to help you focus, organize, etc.
By the way, if you are only perusing free patterns in Ribblr………. most of them are poorly written. Patterns that are well written are usually paid, or by a well known designer that offers them in their blog, newsletters. I have received probably 250 free quality free patterns by signing up for designer’s blogs.
I have criteria for evaluating patterns before buying them, I will have to look for it.
i have self-diagnosed adhd and personally, i cannot do easy patterns. they too boringggg
I get this feeling! I am making an elephant rn, (for reference I have traits of autism and ADHD) and I was so hyperfocused yesterday that I did it all except the belly, ears and trunk - still waiting for the safety eyes tho lol - and today I have looked at another ball of yarn and gotten ready to crochet leggy frogs, before turning back to the elephant and having to finish it!
My favourite patterns have been mini chicks, I made 7 over 2 days without getting bored. Others include scrunchies, and axolotls. If you prefer bigger patterns, I recommend making low sew/ no sew ones - that’s where I always fail - this means you don’t have to worry about making lots of extra things to do once done. If you are, maybe start with the limbs?
thank you so much I am honestly 11 years old and was diagnosed with ADHD and dermatilamania(compulsive picking disorder) I love the support too thank you I am literally crying
You have to be 13+ to use the community side of Ribblr unless you get parental consent form signed.
and don’t be that person I am not using this for no reason I am trying to get patterns if you read the following u would see people supporting me
I have ADHD
I’m just trying to ensure that you follow rules. I read the whole post.
oh ok thank you i respect that
I totally get this feeling. ADHD is different for everyone, so for me, it makes it hard for me to stick to one project for too long unless I’m obsessed with the idea. A lot of projects I make I tend to finish in a couple days, but my longer projects are usually based on my other interests: tote bags of album covers, a plushie of my favorite animal, etc.
Like I said earlier, ADHD varies, so what works for me might not work for you. It’s always helpful to search up other tips or just find patterns that genuinely intrigue you. Hope this helps!
Oh! A pomodoro timer really helped me!
