Am I Genderflux????

☆꧁Lately, I’ve been trying to find a gender label that matches how I feel. For a long time, I’ve been going as a demi-girl, but I think I might be gender flux because sometimes I feel fully feminine, sometimes I feel neither like a boy nor a girl, and sometimes I feel like both and it changes here and there so idk :p
Here’s a definition if you don’t know what I am talking about:
A genderflux person is someone whose gender varies in intensity over time. Genderflux can be seen as a form of gender fluidity and genderflux people may also identify as transgender, genderqueer, or non-binary

As an ancient queer*, I don’t quite vibe with the desire for strict labels, but if a label is important to you - try gender flux on for size. If you eventually decide it doesn’t fit, try on a different one. That’s sort of the glory of self-labeling isn’t it?

**I was born in the 70s, so I naturally view things from an older perspective. Many queer folks my age carry two labels - a simple one for the straight community, and a more specific one for the lgbtq+ community (ex - I identify as “cis/bi” with the straights and “cis-neutral/queer with primary physical attraction to blah, blah, blah” with the lgbtq+ community)

Essentially, labels I identify with strongly are reserved for the people who are most likely to appreciate those labels. :person_shrugging:
