Any strange experiences at markets?

If someone makes reference to Hobby Lobby or other stores selling cheap crochet items from China, I suggest some of the following responses:

  • Yes, I’ve noticed they’ve started to sell cheap, Chinese, crochet items. It’s sad because:
    • They use slave labour in China to make those items
    • Crochet items can’t be made using a machine
    • My products are handmade by me here in _______.
    • I don’t compete with cheap Chinese imports.
    • This is the price you pay for artisanal, handmade in ____, products.
    • Here in ___ the minimum hourly wage is ____.
    • By purchasing from me, you’re helping a small, local business owner.
    • You’re not my target customer in that case.
    • If I charged the same as Hobby Lobby, I wouldn’t be able to cover the cost of materials.
  • You can’t compare my hand made in ____, artisanal products to cheap Chinese imports using slave labor.
