My school is doing talented art and I need a portfolio. I have no idea how to make one, but I looked it up and I think I’m cooked. Any tips or suggestions would be so helpful!!! Btw i can share some photos of my art if needed!

Either! Just what to and not to include!

So, I’m a photographer and here is my process as I’m currently working on a new portfolio:
- Decide the categories that I want to showcase. I would only pick the categories that are my focus (I don’t photograph weddings, babies, so I wouldn’t include those).
- Once I decide on my categories, I would pick my favorites for each category.
- Since my main focus is Professional Wrestling, if I have any photos of bigger name wrestlers, I will make sure to include those.
- After an initial pull of photos, I would see how many that I have. I try to keep roughly the same number of photos in each category. I would also take a break and come back later and review the initial pull to see if I still like those photos or if I want to remove any photos.
- I want the overall feel of the photos to be cohesive but not very matchy, matchy. I want to show off not only my best work, but the type of vibe/editing that I do. I have a different type of editing to most photographers, so I want to make sure that comes through as well.
You want your best work, but I would also put in pieces that you also enjoy. I have photos that aren’t good in a technical sense, but they invoke a feeling in me, so I include one or two of those as well.
I’m always down to review portfolios/possible portfolios and help organize it!
