Anyone ever dyed their hair?

So basically I have a big milestone birthday coming in a few months and py super strict parents finally let me dye my hair! There’s a few problems tho:

:green_heart: First, I wany to dye my hair billie-eilish-green but only the tips

:green_heart: I have brown skin and black hair - am from South Asia

:green_heart: Because of this, I can’t use hair chalk or anything like that

:green_heart: And there’s no way in hell mah parents will let me bleach my hair :zany_face:

So, do you have any ways j can dye my hair without bleaching it or using hair chalk? Any advice is welcome :grin:

Temporary. Only for like a few weeks, two months, max.

I also have dark hair and there are certain bands of hair die that work better I think, I have never tryed myself and for using hair chalk I just do lots of layers or press really hard

I’m not sure there’s a way to dye hair without bleaching it. Especially dark hair since it needs to be lightened first :thinking: I’m not an expert at self dying unless you find a light green and use that. It won’t be bright but it should still be there?

in amazon there are these temporary ones it like a cream and you can just add it and im sure if you add alot then it will show in your black hair :3

Try hair color wax

  • its made to show on dark or black hair
  • no bleach required
  • washes out with one shampoo
  • and can be applied just to the tips

Sighhhh… I just did like an hour of research. There’s no way to get bright green tips without bleach. Without bleach, my hair would just be a really dull shade of green. :sad_but_relieved_face: Oh well, I can just wait until I’m 18 and then do it :smiling_face_with_horns:

I have dyed my tips blue temporary and I just used box die​:winking_face_with_tongue:

I died my hair twice before and since my hair is like dark brown I needed to bleach it first then do the die, butt I wanted it blue but it turned out green because of the bleach​:sweat_smile: one tip though if you die your hair be careful off the scalp because one I did a strip from my scalp down my hair(where it was died) it grew yellow hair(the bleach)

I’m dirty blonde and I tried dying my hair once and didn’t work. Unfortunately you can’t really dye your hair without bleach unless it’s very blonde :(

I would just note that Splat is notorious for serious “staying power” so it might last longer than you want, but it does work well without bleaching - you won’t get her level of green though without bleaching

Yes, @ericrochet it’s not possible to get bright colors without bleaching- they do sell sprays and waxes that wash right out if you want to play before the big commitment when you’re old enough.

My hair is pink and silver, but I had to bleach it first, and I’m almost 60 so my parents don’t care ;)

I actually died my hair a few days ago!
I used Arctic Fox hair dye. It’s supposed to work on darker hair, and it showed up a lot for me (w medium brown). But we got it for my sister who has dark hair (she hasn’t tried it yet tho).
If you’re going to use this tho, just make sure u get the one w/o bleach (bc some do). And I’m pretty sure they have green dyes w/o bleach.
