Okay I will try it thanks
cool!!
I agree with lamagramma, try using a video!!
she does!!
seeing as you are learning on your own at home, continue to watch lots and lots of videos. I grew up figure skating & doing ballet on the side to help on the ice (plus my mom was a professional ballet dancer/teacher), if you don’t have a full length mirror then try to get one!
Without a teacher or someone with you to point out certain body positions, you may be repeating movements using the wrong muscles & injure or just be doing movements wrong. Ex, how you hold your arms in just basic first, is way harder than it seems, your arms should be rounded but your elbows should be held up not resting down, (hands/wrists below elbow, elbow below shoulder) which engages different muscles (you’ll notice the difference).
Another is the position of your hips when your standing in all positions, (& doing movements) & learning to keep your tail bone tucked under rather than arching your back, learning that all movements start from engaging your core to keep your balance. Those examples should be paid attention too and having a mirror is a huge help to visually notice your body’s alignment. So definitely look for instructional videos with teachers who note extra things like body alignment.
Ballet helps build amazing strength and coordination that transfer into so many other things you may do in your life, it definitely helped in my athletics throughout highschool.
