I recomend the Lunar Chronicles and How to Train Your Dragon.

The Lunar Chronicles are fairy tale retellings but sci-fi. It’s really cool and there’s no spice. Also, there are no love triangles! :D

How to Train Your Dragon is completely different from the movies. In my very biased opinion the books are way better. I feel like the plot is more interesting and the character arcs are more realistic. (It’s been over a year since I watched the first movie and I can’t remember anything from the 2nd and 3rd so I may be a little inaccurate). Also I read that Stoick dies in the movies. In the books he doesn’t but instead there’s another similarly sad death :D

Okay kinda late, but the two books in the impossible creatures series by Katherine Rundell
