Hey! Iām super interested in hearing what books booktok convinced you guys to read/buy, which ones you loved or hated the most, and which ones you will NEVER even think about touching.
(Warning, brutally honest. No hate to anyone who enjoyed these books or to the authors)

Booktok books Iāve read:
Six of Crows - 5000/5 
will read a million times again (Leigh Bardugo is amazing)
The Cruel Prince - 5/5 Pretty good enemies to lovers and amazing characters (Holly Black will always be a favourite)
Caraval - 1/5 Not my thing, boring, couldnāt read past the first half, regret buying it (Is now at my local library for others to read)
Shadow and Bone - 4/5 I didnāt really enjoy Alinaās POV, but this trilogy was astonishingly well written
Booktok books I will never read:
Powerless, Icebreaker, A Court of Thorns and Roses, anything by Colleen Hoover, anything ādark romanceā.
Booktok books Iām curious about but havenāt tried:
Shatter Me (IF you have read this tell me what you think of it in the most brutally honest way, I would like to know if it is worth it)

ok- I absolutely LOVED the powerless series. I donāt watch TikTok so I didnāt know it was popular, I just saw it and thought it looked cool
But genuinely one of my favorite series-es!
Iām also halfway through A Court of Thorns and Roses and Iām really liking it!
Iām also curious about Shatter Me- I know itās popular, but what is it about?

What is A Court of Thorns and Roses like? I have heard some say itās romantasy so I was staying away due to the fact that I am not a big romance reader. I can do romance as long as itās not the main focus and everything else gets shoved aside in favor for smooching.

It is romantasy, there is spice so if you donāt like that, then I donāt recommend it
I only like romance if itās also fantasy, gay, or sci-fi lol
Iām not too far into the book yet, but I know that @PkCrochet has read it!

Shatter Me isā¦ interesting. Itās very fast paced and I quite enjoyed the plot, but the romance can be overpowering at times. It really js depends on the person.

yupp acotar is def pretty romance-based further in the series. I still think its a classic, and i really loved it when i read it (acotar got me back into reading again after 2-3 years lol)

Iām only on like page 100 of shatter me but Iām not gonna lie itās kind of boring so far I know Iām not very far through it yet but again nothings really happening.
THE GOOD PARTS: the writing is very interesting and the description and how the characters interact is pretty good
THE meh PARTS: Not a lot has happened and the things that have happened arenāt super interesting.
These are just my thoughts so far but I hope this helps.

Thank you for this, I tried to read it but it just didnāt have a good enough hook. Iām sure there are parts in it that make up for the boring start but I just couldnāt get invested; especially because the series is so large.
If I try a large series the first book has to be good enough to make me want more, Shatter Me just didnāt reach that standard. (and Iāve read some giant series)
