Can I add more rows?

hello everyone! so, I’ve finally learned to knit, and being myself, decided to jump right into making a sweater lol. it’s going quite well, a very simple pattern with no design or color changes. I’m nearly halfway thought the body (before shaping) and want to know if i can simply add extra rows to make it longer as i have a longer torso. is this doable or am i being silly and over thinking lol? here is the pattern in question. have a lovely day!

You are overthinking!

Yes you can just add some extra rows of knit to make it longer. Then to jump back to the spot you were in the pattern for shaping

also good luck!

Absolutely. You can make it as long as you want by adding extra rows. Or course you can also make a sweater shorter by making less rows.

In a sweater with no pattern it’s just that easy.

If there WERE a pattern in the sweater though and you lengthen the sweater you would have to start the pattern lower down to keep it centered.

But you should be fine, as yours sounds like there isn’t one.

Personally, I always make my sweaters longer as I am both tall fur a woman and overweight at the same time. I’d prefer all of my stomach covered.

Also btw, just saying, if you add enough rows you really can turn a sweater into a dress.

I am pretty sure that would work, but you could message the creator and ask! Good luck!
