hello everyone! so, I’ve finally learned to knit, and being myself, decided to jump right into making a sweater lol. it’s going quite well, a very simple pattern with no design or color changes. I’m nearly halfway thought the body (before shaping) and want to know if i can simply add extra rows to make it longer as i have a longer torso. is this doable or am i being silly and over thinking lol? here is the pattern in question. have a lovely day!
FIRST OF ALL LOVE THE PATTERN LIKE AHHH secondly idk howww to knit- sooo im not sure-
it’s working up quite pretty in navy with white accents :)
LE GASP I love the colors you pickeddd I love navyy-
also with white? its gonna look so cuteee
thank you!
ofc!
I love the colors you picked and the patternnn, my mom knits so I know kinda how it works, I think you can just add more rows to make it longer but I’m not 100% sure..
ah lovely, thank you! and im glad you like the color choices as well :]
You are overthinking!
Yes you can just add some extra rows of knit to make it longer. Then to jump back to the spot you were in the pattern for shaping
also good luck!
thanks!! i figured i probably was lol
Absolutely. You can make it as long as you want by adding extra rows. Or course you can also make a sweater shorter by making less rows.
In a sweater with no pattern it’s just that easy.
If there WERE a pattern in the sweater though and you lengthen the sweater you would have to start the pattern lower down to keep it centered.
But you should be fine, as yours sounds like there isn’t one.
Personally, I always make my sweaters longer as I am both tall fur a woman and overweight at the same time. I’d prefer all of my stomach covered.
thanks for the tips!! i appreciate it!! and yes i also prefer to have my stomach covered
Yes absolutely you can , it looks kinda boxy/ oversized so just make it as long as you want to
.
lovely, thank you!
You’re welcome, if you need any help just pop me a message , I’ll reply when I can . I am UK tho so may be a delay . I’m sure you’ll be fine tho ![]()
aw how sweet of you, thank you!
Also btw, just saying, if you add enough rows you really can turn a sweater into a dress.
oooh cool!
I’m in UK too
I am pretty sure that would work, but you could message the creator and ask! Good luck!
