Closed Special Series-Fruit Basket part 1 of 6 Tester call for Crochet: Tiny Apples and Oranges

Update: test call is closed and selected testers will receive a tester group message. I wish I could have chosen everyone who applied, but had to keep the group to a manageable size! Thank you all for your support and please follow for giveaways, test opportunities, and mare tiny designs! Unique patterns | suettle | Ribblr

Please read all directions before you apply!

I need up to 10 intermediate skill+ testers for my Tiny Apples and Oranges - Crochet

This is a special test project for a little fruit basket. Each fruit takes 30 minutes or less to make, and the basket takes less than an hour.

How it works: patterns will be released for testing one at a time. Completing a test guarantees you a spot for the next part of the project of your choosing. You can apply for any or all parts, but if you apply and are approved but do not finish the test, that’s the end of this project for you. Please only apply if you have time to finish by the due date! See planned schedule below.

Specs:
You can make the apple or orange or both, your choice.
About 1 1/2" tall. No-sew as usual. Designed in worsted weight cotton with 3.5 mm hook, but use any yarn and colors you like, I love seeing testers’ creative choices! Must use the same or similar weight of yarn for all the parts you test.

Journal with at least one pic of finished project is due by 11:59 pm on January 17, 2024. Testers will be gifted the pattern upon completion.

I will create a group message for testers when the last tester has been chosen. Please use that or PM with any questions or issues since journals will be public after publishing.

THANK YOU for reading the requirements! To increase your odds of being chosen, apply to the test and comment below with the yarn you plan to use and your favorite type of fruit. Mine is :strawberry::blush: and I predictably used Sugar 'n Cream cotton.

Fruit basket planned testing schedule:
1/13/24 - 1/17/24 apple/orange
1/18/24 -1/22/24 pear
1/23/24 - 1/27/24 lemon
1/28/24 - 2/1/24 banana
2/2/24 - 2/6/24 grapes
2/7/24 -2/12/24 basket

I appreciate your time and honest feedback, thanks for considering testing for me!

I greatly appreciate any shares, especially with links to my Ribblr shop. Unique patterns | suettle | Ribblr and tags on Instagram @suettle.

I’m steadily adding my extensive catalog of original designs to Ribblr and I’m creating new ones all the time! If you don’t see one you like, suggest it to me!

Hmm, hard to pick just one fruit….I guess I would say :watermelon:. I would probably use acrylic worsted and size 3mm hook, as I don’t have as many colors in my cotton collection yet. (But, maybe this project would be the perfect excuse to get more cotton, hehe)

Just applied. I would use size 6 yarn and a 4mm hook. My favourite fruit is definitely mango :mango::heart_eyes: This is such a cute pattern; my little one loves to carry things in bags so I hope I can test everything. :crossed_fingers:

I would like to test using a smaller acrylic yarn with a 2.5 mm hook. My favorite fruit is probably :kiwi_fruit: but I like fruit a lot

Awesome! My favorite fruit is either pineapple or mango, and I’d use worsted weight yarn with a 4.0mm hook (I don’t know who the yarn is by bcos I get my entire stash from Craigslist lol)

I’m pretty sure I applied but can’t remember, so I’ll throw it in here anyways.

I love me some honeydew melon! Like, a ridiculous amount!
And I have more colors of worsted, so that would be my default here.

My favorite fruit is either a very ripe persimmon or a mango.

The only yarn I have in all the right colors is a light worsted acrylic. I always use an E or D hook with these. For this project I’d use the D/3.25 mm.

(Top row for the fruits. Bottom row for leaves, stems and baskets.)

I love the method you chose for this test. It is less overwhelming and feels achievable.

I’m considering offering the apple/orange pattern for free but all others will be paid either individually or as a discounted bundle.
