i was at hobby lobby to buy yarn, and i stumbled upon these -
$6.
needless to say im not supporting hobby lobby anymore! especially since the whole store is covered in ai stuff now.
this has been a community psa
anyway how are you guys

Yeah I’ve been seeing lots of crochet stuff at my local Walmart, and they are very underpriced 
But in my situation I can’t stop buying stuff from my Walmart cuz it’s the only grocery store around where I live

omg. this is horrible. think of all the time it took to make those just to be sold for $6. Not to mention people who will buy them and resell them for more money :c I will def stay away from hobby lobby :c!

As time goes on, I see more and more stores carrying many of the non-crocheted crafts I do too. And like you indicated, the stores sell for way less than what I need to sell for. Frustrating!

It’s very disappointing that a craft store is doing this especially because that they should be more understanding of handmade items .
one time while I was at the mall I saw someone have tons of crocheted items that felt to true that they only crocheted they it was definitely other people making it .

with my local joanns most likely shutting down within the next two months, and my micheals being, uh, micheals, to put that like that, hobby lobby is my only place nearby to get yarn :,)
ill limit my purchases, but my mums all amazed with it cause its a christians run and owned store

I already had issues with Hobby Lobby… but this is still disappointing. The low price is proof of the human exploitation behind each flower. There’s no way they could sell them for $6 while paying the crocheters what they deserve for their time, skill, and labor.

I don’t want to buy from them anyway because they illegally imported a bunch of stuff and are antisemitic :( also are the crocheted or knit that looks like crochet aka machine made ?

My Hobby Lobby only sells the red rose and sunflower so I can only comment on those, but from what I can tell the sunflower is the only one that is mostly crochet (the leaves look machine knit but they might be crochet?).
The petals of the red rose are definitely machine knit and the leaves look like they most likely are as well

The whole point of this post is that whoever made these are being under paid but if it’s machine made then it’s not underpaiying a person ig im just wondering cause if its machine knit to look like crochet it’s completely different
