Craft projects for people in need.

I have been thinking about tis for a while and wanted to share it and see if others were up to it. I have noticed that younger children and adults who are in need get all of the attention, leaving teens left in the dust. I wanted to take action against this and launch a ribblr wide optional project to help combat this. We all could join together and make things for teenagers in need, weather it be hats, scarves, arm warmers, stuffed animals, blankets, clothes, the teenagers would really appreciate it. I think that this would be a great chance to come togother and do some good for the community.

I think it’s a good idea, but I’m not sure how it would work. Ribblr is full of people all over the Earth and I don’t think we all would be able to send things to a one place. I believe we can find a way how to do this, because it’s a really great and awesome idea.

its a good idea, but maybe we could do more of a local homeless shelter/ribblr partnering, so ribblr finds people who are near shelters and send out a message saying ā€œhey, if you want to, theres these people in need who you oculd help by doingā€¦ā€ or something

Theres a website (and possibly app?) called Just Serve that is FULL of service opportunities and i think one of the things is like what you suggested…

Love this! How do you envision this?

so how I envision this is having people on here crocheting things that would be given to teens in need, such as hats, scarves, arm warmers, blankets, stuffed animals, and make them in all different styles so that way the teens can have options. There are many organizations that are specifically for teenagers in need. If we could find areas of those all over the world,we could all have a joint effort and donate hundreds of items to teenagers in need and make a big difference.

Wow if you do this pls DM me and i would love to help!!!

Yes, this is great :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m so willing to participate in this!! This sounds amazing and I would love to help those young peoples in need

we are all from different communities, perhaps making a feed, or dedicated forum for us to post a selfie donating our bin of dogoodery for us to share between us, not for clout or what have you, just to show there is still kindness all over the community :)

Awesome

I was going to suggest JustServe.org too!
It’s great because you can search with a keyword, like ā€œcrochetā€ or ā€œblanketā€ & choose a distance and location to find projects in your area. It’s so easy to use. :slightly_smiling_face:

Also, if a project benefits children, you can check or ask if that includes up to 18 yrs.

If you help with projects for homeless shelters, it would benefit anyone allowed at that shelter, so teens would get them, too.

I’m new to this site, but I just noticed that there’s an option to create a ā€˜Personal Space’ (which can be private or public) if you have a community level 92 or higher.

Here’s the page with info:

@RisingPhoenix do you have that level?
(If not, maybe someone else here would be willing to create a personal space to post charity donations.)

And / Or someone who has ā€œRegularā€ member status can create a Tag. How about #GivingCharity ?

that could work! I don’t know my community status, but I’ll look into it. I have the reguar status and I’ll look into making a personal space.
