Creating patterns

I’m very new to this app, and still figuring it out. Not really interested in opening a shop, but I am looking for a way to write out my patterns.

I tend to Frankenstein or just do what I feel like lately with the amigurumi pieces I’ve made recently, and I’d like somewhere to write them down.

Stitchfiddle isn’t really formatted for amigurumi, and just using Google Drive or a notes app lacks the formatting that patterns on Ribblr have.

Is there a way on this app to write down my patterns in a journal only for me to see? Thanks in advance!

im fairly certain the only way to write out your patterns is to open a shop, but you don’t have to release your patterns. you can just write them out and then not publish them, making a library of your patterns for yourself

I think you have to make a shop in order to write down any pattern (ribblr’s platform of writing patterns is super easy and effective)

Thank you. Are there any costs associated with opening a shop? Or would there only be costs if I posted a pattern with a price on it?

nope, it’s completely free, unless you offered paid patterns, in which case you’d earn money

Opening a shop is the free way to write patterns on Ribblr (there are no costs involved, even if you publish a pattern there are only fees if you make a sale). If you leave everything in “draft” mode then they will only be visible to you.

The other way is to pay for Ribblr+ which will allow you to write patterns without having to open a shop. It’s only available for the gold and platinum levels, though.

I see your questions were sort of answered already, but here is some extra info I would have found helpful when I joined Ribblr.

  • Ribblr can be completely free if you want it to be.
You can have a shop with only free patterns, get only free patterns, and post for totally free. Or, you can choose to buy platinum or silver or gold (or whatever they are) that make it a little more fun. And you can choose to buy patterns.
  • You can make patterns without posting them and just keeping them to yourself, but I’m sure the community would like to see them eventually!
  • Testing with Ribblr is SO easy! I wish I knew that at first because I don’t want to hold tester calls anywhere else. Ribblr makes it easy and FUN!

Hope that is a little helpful.
