Has anyone here ever tried to destash, or sell/ trade yarn you no longer want or need? Oh and th reason I put this in the adults only space is because destashing requires sending your name and address

No, but I have been given yarn before by people who were destashing!! A family friend gave me a good bit of acrylic yarn from her stash because she couldn’t do as much any more. And I am part of several charity crafting groups, so I have recieved lots of yarn from other members to use forcharity projects, as they didn’t like working with those yarns.

Ah ok. I just scored a whole bunch of eyelash yarn for only $5, which I’m going to use to make a knitted aye aye , the animal.

Well, I would avoid facebook marketplace. Besides the constant ghosting it appears there are people who low ball you aggressively and then turn around and sell it for near retail.
There is a Reddit sub for destashing. The high quality yarns sell quickly. Not so certain about RHSS, And other box store brands don’t sell well unless you have a skein and lot number of a discontinued yarn. In that case, Ravelry is best.
Ribblrs who make their stash public could create some activity.
Being a part of crafters groups, especially in person does better cause you know- we want to “feel” the yarn!
