Itās because your friend is a basic level user.
Your friend will have to be at least a Member Level.
maybe tell her to log out an back in.
you can also dm people by clicking the āchatā button in almost anyoneās profile.
Basic users now have the ability to chat with people.
She can dm but she canāt start new DMās? That doesnāt make sense

have her click on the the profile of whomever sheās tryong to dm. there should be a button to dm them from there inless they have it disabled

DM is different than going to a profile and selecting the button to message someone.
To make a new DM, your friend needs to be a Member Level. Itās not hard to get that achievement, so have them reach those benchmarks, then try again.

really? Iāve never been able to start them from the dms. edit: nevermind, im a tad slow and figured out i can in fact do that

thatās GROUP message tho. you can still direct message ONE person thru chat as a basic member. notice how in Lilcrochet14ās profile, thereās a āchatā button?? that means she is able to DM people. (btw iām not annoyed or anything, js trying to get the point across!!)
