I know this is a serious long shot, but I’m hoping someone can help me identify a book that I barely remember, lol.
It was a YA fantasy book, and probably a dystopian, because that is mostly what I ws reading at the time. I would have read it around 2016, but it probably was published a few years before then.
I don’t really remember much of the storyline, just one scene in particular. There was this older guy who was an artist, and he was helping/mentoring a bunch of rebellious teens. I think they were creating murals and stuff for activism, because society was super messed up somehow, I don’t remember why. But the scene I remember best is where he is teaching a teen girl, who I’m pretty sure was the protagonist, how to stretch a canvas for one of their projects.
I also want to say the older guy died towards the end of the book, because I really liked him and I remember being super upset.
I know, it’s not much to go on, and probably no one will remember this book. But I have gone crazy trying and failing to find it online, so I’m just giving it one last shot.

I’m not exactly sure, but maybe one of these? Found these using Google.
Most likely, it’s this one:
“The Walls Around Us” by Nova Ren Suma
But it could also be this one:
“The Unfinished Life of Addison Stone” by Adele Griffin
