(guys we’re almost to ten!!!)
This dog is an american breed, though thought by many to be from a different country. It may have gotten its name from the many Basque shepherds that were imported to America. That breed made a significant contribution to this breed.
They gained popularity in the 1950s to 1960s, when Jay Sisler, who was a rodeo performer, toured the United States and Canada with his three dogs of this breed. They performed a lot of tricks and would eventually star in Stub: The Best Cowdog in the West and Run, Appaloosa, Run!
These dogs still work on ranches and farms throughout the western United States.
Care and behavior: Rangers and Stockmen bred a dog that could work all day long and over long distances if needed. These dogs are also known for their abilities as watchdogs and unwillingness to accept a stranger until they have been checked out, oh excuse me,thoroughly checked out.
All of their attributes make this a great choice for families and individual alike. Their intelligence, abundant energy, and high spirits need to be kept in check. This dog also needs a job to be a happy, healthy dog.
no prize for this one, i’m tired.
the last dog of the day was a Bergamesco.
