So i have decided to do dog of the day! How this works is i will post a picture of the dog and description. if you get it right you get a follow from me! If you already have one, well lucky you! If the dog is very obscure, then you might even get a custom/collab!
Since this is the first dog of the day, we’ll start out easy.
This dog is the ideal dog for first time dog owners, in fact i wouldn’t be surprised if some of you guys have one!
All of these dogs have the common ancestor of the Wavy-Coated Retriever which originated in England. In fact, this dog has quite the origin story! One yellow puppy was found in a litter of the black Wavy-Coated Retrievers. And since dogs were mainly used for hunting (retrieving) back then, the yellow dog would have been easy to spot, giving it a disadvantage. But luckily, a man named Lord Tweedmouth (i’m not joking i promise) bought the dog and bred it to his Tweed Water Spaniel (now extinct) named Belle. And the whole lineage of this dog can trace back to that litter of four pups!
Behavior: This canine companion needs lots of exercise bc he did end up being very useful at retrieving and still does it today! He also needs regular attention and training.
His coat can shed profusely and usually this dog loves the mud and water but owners find that keeping his coat clean is relatively easy.
Make sure this dog always has stuff to retrieve!
