You have to lay them flat to fold them
no, I mean you could but neither of the proper ways require it.

Folding fitted sheets is the #1 red flag.
Mine are not only folded, they are matched with the top sheet and pillow cases and then placed inside one case and folded over to make one perfect package in the linen closet.
That’s how I do it, don’t lose pillow cases that way. I lose pillow cases like people lose socks I swear!
