heyyy i had a question bc i was born in the 2010 - 2012 range and idk if im gen alpha or gen z and websites hv different answers :sob: i hope im gen z tho js bc

  • gen z (1997 – 2012) gen alpha (2013 - present)
  • gen z (1995-2009) gen alpha (2010-present)

i feel like you’re the oldest gen alpha, personally i think 2010 is the cutoff for gen z -a 2009 9th grader lol

I feel like it’s whatever you vibe with now lol. I’m Gen z (2000) with a millennial sister(1995). When you’re right at the cusp between the two, you get a little mixture of both. There’s the technicality of which year you were born, and there is the mentality of which one you relate to more :sparkles:

i have more thoughts about this sorry :sob: i feel like one of the biggest markers of cultural gen z is being in middle/high school during some point of the pandemic which you guys (2011) weren’t

Ive always thought of 2010 as the year where it changes, but i saw a couple articles saying it was 2012. I lean mkre towards the 2010 side just cause (i have no good reason for it lol)

A cusp kid like me so either one I consider my self to be gen z cb I was born 2010 but the official cutoff depends on who you ask

I personally think that if you’re on the cusp, you can choose which generation you would like to identify with! There are just so many different websites and sources saying different dates, it gets confusing :face_with_spiral_eyes:

I consider myself Gen Z (jan 4 2011) because there are so many social differences between me and many other Gen Alpha. They all see so attached to social media. I just dont want to relate to them so I don :smiling_face: Plus I think it ends at the end of 2011. If you were born on dec 31 23:59 2011 then you are Gen Z but Jan 1 00:00 2012 then you are Gen Alpha
