Hi everyone, I am relatively new to Ribblr, this is my first time discovering the community section.
I’ve always known the crochet community to be wholesome through social media
But the people here are even more supportive and kind.
I am an actor from Singapore, I started crocheting to woo the girl I was chasing, (my current girlfriend) because she’s been crocheting since the age of 9.
After struggling the first time, I got hooked! I was in a dark place mentally and crochet literally helped me in so many ways.
Within a year, we’ve created our brand, Unravel &.
We named it Unravel & because to me, crochet symbolises that no matter what mistake you’ve made, you can always unravel and start again and all hope’s not lost.
Crocheting is also a perfect activity that utilises my left and right brain, and it puts me in the flow state. Something I believe most crafters can relate.
I started seeing shapes, trigonometry, and tessellations when my eyes are closed before bed. I wanted to create a shirt that doesn’t require much weaving in (i hated that before) and so my first shirt design, ‘9 Halls’ was born.
I enjoy creating and designing patterns and I’m really grateful for all the support.
