Hat Lining

Hi. I haven’t been knitting long, but have a few projects under my belt.

I want to make a warm beanie for a friend, but she is very texture sensitive and knit/crocheted hats really bug her. She thinks adding a satiny lining might help.

How hard would it be to sew one in after the hat was done? I want it to look nice, not like I just slapped it in.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Here’s some videos I found specifically about satin to line a beanie, I haven’t watched all of them fully but they should hopefully give some good insight and tips and tricks when doing this, if you want it to look nice your best bet is definitely using a sewing machine, I believe that’s how they sew it in the videos as well, but if that’s not an option for you I believe following the video and just hand sewing instead of using a sewing machine could be an option as well

I’m glad @ArtsAndNaps was able to link a specific video to help, because sadly my answer would have been: it’s definitely possible, and how many people do it… I hope you’re able to figure out something perfect for your friend! Please come back and share!
