Hi, I’m Kiwi! I’d suggest reading the community guidelines if you haven’t yet, and feel free to message me if you have any questions!

Welcome to Ribblr! Along with what kiwi said about checking the community guidelines, it’s also a good idea to read through the community wiki as well so you can navigate the website :)

Welcome. :waving_hand:

Ribblr is predominantly designed for designers (not only) and their main premise is to protect designers’ patterns from theft, plagiarism and copyright violations, which is a huge problem in our industry.

Ribblr created the ā€œe-patternā€ which is how all patterns are offered to the public. This means that you have to be using the app/website in order to access the patterns. Pattern designers have full control over how they provide access to their patterns and, in most cases, you can not download a pattern for use when offline. However, many designer’s choose to offer their patterns as a pdf as well.

Additionally, Ribblr and the community here are strictly anti-AI so you will not find AI generated patterns here. Those of us who are regularly here on the platform will flag anything that looks suspicious for Ribblr to investigate and remove.

Here on Ribblr you can find an assortment of both free and paid patterns. In order to obtain free patterns, you generally need to follow the designer before you can access their pattern. Once you have ā€˜access’ to the pattern, you can create a journal, in which you can (and should) upload a picture of your completed make and some feedback. This helps both designer and other makers.

When accessing the pattern, you can cross out rows/rounds as you progress through the pattern. You can hover your mouse over an abbreviation to find out what is stands for and even watch video stitch tutorials of the stitch, if you’re unsure of how to make it.

You can test patterns for designers and get a feel for the testing process.

Ribblr, and the community as a whole, is very supportive and helpful. As this platform operates worldwide, there is always someone ready, willing and able to provide support, advice and recommendations should you need help.

If you make a post, please ensure it’s craft related and that you have categorised it correctly. Don’t worry if you’re unsure, it can always be amended if it’s not in the most relevant category. Also use tags to help the search function.

Hiiiiiiiiii, I’m Rae. Uhmmm I am trying to think of smth that wasn’t already said to be unique. Uhmm…

Ribblr has a lot of different personal spaces for things other than crochet(and knitting)! And you can post tester calls, and different projects, ect. Just make sure you put them in the correct spot! It makes ribblr more organized and some ppl don’t want to see some of the different topics (Like lot of the adults on ribblr don’t wanna see the teen section, or if you are looking at crochet, you might not want to see knitting) Feel free to DM me anytime! And I may be in the General Chat as well.
