Hooks- are you team inline or team tapered?

Personally, I prefer inline. I learned on tapered but after trying my first inline earlier this year I’m slowly replacing my collection. It’s just so much smoother & faster to me! What’s your preference and why?

I prefer tapered

It has to do with throat & head shape of the hook! Photo attached to show the difference- the pink one is tapered & the gold is inline

Ohhh ok. Thanks so much!
I usually use tapered cause thats what most of my hooks are and they work well for me, but i feel like inline would make it easier to get into the stitches cause it has the point. I honestly don’t have a preference as of now; idc about the hook as long as i can crochet lol

That’s absolutely fair! The best hook is the one that helps you get projects done for sure

Ooo! I love tapered, I just like like how the yarn glides on hook with in line hooks.

definitely tapered haha- whenever i use inline hooks they split my yarn.

I wondered why my yarn always split! Of course it’s the hook type, I use inline.

most of my hooks are tapered, but I prefer how in-line hooks are better at getting into tighter stitches and can hold in the yarn better

I have yet to use a hook (or pair of needles) that I don’t or won’t use. No preferences

Same @ClaireCrochets247 . Inline splits my yarn. Although there was one type of yarn once, many years ago, that an inline worked like butter and It was the tapered that gave me trouble. But for the most part, all of my hooks are tapered.

Inline
I use a knife hold and yarn under. My yarn doesn’t get caught as much with inline.
