How does the "% tests completed" work?

No that’s okay! It’ll lead people here.

I’ll make sure we add an in-depth answer to our help center too!

@Ribblr
Ok. So I had just applied to test earlier today, and that designer was kind enough to tell me my % tests completed number is 46%.
I’m still a bit new to testing, but I have yet to not be gifted the pattern at the end of testing. I currently have 2 tests I’m testing for.

I think there is a glitch. Maybe the system is counting the tests I’ve applied for but wasn’t approved. I like to apply for the popular patterns, and as I’m a newbie tester, I often don’t get selected. So 46% would be more accurate then. Can you please fix the glitch, because the number as it stands penalizes people for trying to test good patterns.

I’ll have the team check that!

You are correct! Apparently it did count pending applications. It’s been fixed now.

Wow. Awesome. Thanks @craftycellist for letting me know my number so this can be fixed. I was feeling awful for all my friends’ low numbers, but mine was the worst. I’ll have to ask her again what the number says in 10 min or so once the server updates.

I can check now! And ofc, you’re welcome

It updated for my testers, so what’s my new number?

You now have 64 percent!

Huh. That is still way too low.
@Ribblr sorry for bugging you again, but the % tests completed are still not accurate.
You said you took off pending applications, what about when a tester is rejected from testing?

If I apply to a popular test, I might be rejected just because of sheer numbers, or any number of reasons.

The team hasn’t deployed all the fixes yet - please allow up to 48 hours

Ok. I’ll just ask @craftycellist to leave my application for her super cute cat pending for a few days so she can tell me what it looks like then. FYI, it really would be nice to have an easier way to check my own % tests completed number. Maybe in summary? Or by the karma? Anyway. I know @Ribblr said maybe in a future update. Do I need to ask again in the suggestions tab? Or is the request to know our own % tests completed number already sufficiently filed?

I’ve logged it in already

Will do!

interesting!! lol. idk, ribblr has some interesting features like being able to chat with yourself… and make yourself an editor for your own patterns…

Sorry i’d asked a question then saw the answer  didn’t see it at first

I’m sorry I’m still confused. How exactly is the % calculated? Because I also thought my past testers percentages seemed low. I just wanna make sure I understand. Is it calculating the number based on how many tests they’ve applied to? Or based on how many tests they’ve been accepted to?

Short answer: It is currently messed up. Let’s see what happens in 48 hours. That’s what Ribblr requested.

Long answer:
Intent- % tests completed is # tests completed (meaning you were gifted the pattern) / total # of tests accepted as tester for (not counting current tests)

Actual

  • confirmed: counted number of tests applied, but pending approval in total, so counted against the %- this might’ve been fixed for some by now.
  • suspected: counts the number of tests applied for, but were rejected and never tested in the total, so counts against the %.

Oh thanks! They directed me here when i asked about it, but even after reading all the comments i was a little confused. I feel better knowing that the intent is exactly what i was hoping for it to be. I’m sure they’ll get the coding figured out soon

So, it hasn’t been 48 hours yet, but it looks like at least my numbers are fixed.
Apparently designers can see the % tests copleted score for any previous testers who participated in tests they gave, not just pending. I completed @HookedByMarilyn 's froggy scrunchy and she was kind enough to look and tell me my score. It’s now at 100%. Way better than the 46% yesterday. And accurate.
@craftycellist checked too, and she also saw I’ve got 100%. Thanks guys.
