I started at 9 so almost 21 years ago! My grandma would have me help her make scarves, doilies, and blankets to hand out at church or retirement homes. She passed when I was 17, but I still kept up making and donating items because she was passionate about it. My peak donations were during covid, but during that time I got more into amigurumi, clothes for myself and started making things for me and friends/family, not just a couple blankets, and a dozen hats/scarves/gloves that i would donate at the end of the year. (I still do, but now i crochet for myself as well)

I learned how to chain almost 11 years ago wanting to make something for my oldest who had just been born. Realized I didn’t have the patience and then I wound up on bed rest with my youngest and ended up figuring it out​:sweat_smile:

I first crocheted a half of a hat on December 18th last year, on January 17th, I made my first amigurumi spider. So only a bit under 4 months now :smile:

I started in 2021 my Tia was going to have a baby girl so I decided I was going to make her pink booties, however I failed and said I was never going to crochet again.
Here I am now crocheting some years later in 2024 3 days before I graduated, I begged my mom to buy me yarn and some hooks and she said okay but it would be my graduation gift and to not expect anything else.

I have done it all, I have created dresses for babies and another room claim like if she done it. I have done blankets since I was 8, hats, scarves, baby clothes and more. Now I’m learning plushies

I’ve been crocheting for maybe three years now. And I only recently learned how to read patterns. I’m really good at free-handed crochet.

I started in 2012 or '13? Gave up and then picked it back up in 2014 and have been crocheting ever since! So i was 20 or 21 when i started in 2014.
