How much does your wool cost? 🤔

Hey guys!
So I was just wondering… how much does your yarn cost?

I think it would be interesting to see how different countries cost their yarn. Here in Australia, an acrylic yarn from a cheap shop would be around $3.50 and it depends for chenille, but probs around 2-4 dollars…

Anyway, let me know! :slightly_smiling_face::blush:

The acrylic yarn I usually get (in Canada) is about $6 and the plush yarn is around $15. In the US I don’t pay as close attention but I think the acrylic I get is around $3-4 and the plush is $12!

So is that from like a special store or like a reject shop if u guys have those? If my yarn was that expensive I would probs be broke :laughing:

Well in Canada I usually just get it from Walmart, but a couple times it was from Michael’s. And in the US I always get it from Joann’s! Idk why it’s that expensive, but the currency is different in Canada so everything’s more expensive. Also I get bigger balls of yarn, like bernat blanket compared to premier parfait.

I get most of my chenille yarn from dollar tree so about $1.25 per 50 grams. I can get like 8 skeins for like $10 which is really nice! I also get yarn from micheals and joanns but I wait until it’s on sale for about $8 a skein:yellow_heart:

Where I shop, Hobby Lobby, they do 30% off on yarn every other week so i never pay full price. The brands I usually use in plush (5 bulky) are Yarn Bee Velvety Smooth and Baby Bee Adore-a-ball and full price for both is $4.99

Around $12-15 CAD for the plush yarn I get :sweat_smile:

I usually go to a Michaels store to get my yarn (sometimes walmart). I like to buy the clearance/on sale yarn just to save a bit of money!

I live in Canada btw

At my local Michael’s they do clearance yarns a LOT. Like 80% of the time they have a whole rack of Bernat Softee Chunky in whatever color(s) is the least popular for $0.99!!! It’s a huuuuge deal, and the colors aren’t bad at all, just discontinued sometimes.

I’m in the US and the cheap acrylic I buy is the Soft Classic Solid Yarn by Loops & Threads. It’s $3ish for 198g/354yds.
My favorite chenille yarns are Sweet Snuggles Lite and Chenille Home Slim, and they’re each 250g/218yds for $10
A more expensive chenille yarn I also use really often is Bernat Blanket which is 300g/220yds for $12-15
