I just finally finished reading all the hunger games books for the first time last week and OH MY GOSH. I CANT EVEN IT WAS SO GOOD. Saying this as someone who typically can’t/doesn’t read dystopia, I thought it was really well done and I was really engaged in the plot and story. I think the characters are what did it for me, the books had a lot of centering around the characters and didn’t do what a lot of the short stories I had to read for school did: show them being oppressed in graphic detail many times and that’s about it before the book ending depressingly. The theme wasn’t just how bad the world was, it was what you do in that world. Also I’m pretty sure from what I know about it that just war theory was a big theme in mockingjay. I wouldn’t say the books were “fun” to read but I was completely engrossed in them the entire time. And I don’t have PTSD of any sort, but in general I think the depictions of mental illness were incredible. AGH WHAT AM I GONNA READ NOW

I also have watched all of the movies up to mockingjay part 1 and they’re not perfect but I think they did a really good job capturing the essence and plot of the books (kind of like the HP movies)

YESS I LOVE HUNGER SM AS WELL! I got the full set for Christmas and have been reading them non stop lately!!

Such a great book series!!! I love all the books sm and they’re the books that got me into reading. Glad u liked it!

My sister is obsessed with those books!!! I never really thought about reading them because I’m also not a huge dystopian fan, but now maybe I will!

I loved reading them!!
I just started reading the Inheritance Games and the Divergent Series. Both are really good so far.

I love ballad!! The movie was especially good because you could hear all the songs
