I use the cheap unbranded ergonomic hooks from Amazon mostly but I do own a bunch of Boye metal hooks that have been passed down or thrifted. I’m broke lol
same bro
I got a set of clovers and loved them
Picked up spares in my 2 most used sizes, and got another full set at Christmas ![]()
so now I have a full set at my desk, a full set in my go bag, and my 2 most used at the couch for when I crochet there. I was interested in furls but the price for 2 is the same as a set of 10 clovers almost. And I use 3-4 different sizes at least. Just not feasible. Plus I’ve heard they can easily break if not the metal, and the metal ones can have the finish wear off and look meh.
My favorite tapered metal hooks are Boye. I have a few unbranded/store brand hooks too. But Boye is what I prefer. And I just make my own grips for them.
Hobby Lobby has some very inexpensive ergonomic hooks that I love. They also have a light up set that are my go to. I buy them buy the hook there. I like a flat grip area…more comfortable for my hand. Both feature this.
I use various needles, mostly the ones with silicone handles. In my first set, all the needles were made of bare aluminum, so I asked my dad to turn wooden handles for them. I love them, but I use them very rarely
Unbranded from a pack my mum ordered off amazon and some Susan Bates metal hooks for more in-between sizes like 3.25 or 4.75, and I have 2 giant bamboo loops & threads and a size p or something metal loops & threads, it has a turquoise grip in case p is the wrong size, and a random one from a Japanese dollar store that’s purple resin and I think 15mm
I might have a couple of Boye too now that I think of it
I use those too! Mine are flowered but I’m pretty sure they’re the same!
Probably! They do have an option for flower ones. I think the ones I had were on sale at the time so those are the ones I got. They currently have a style on sale for like $9 instead of the usual like 13
Prym!!!
I have 3 now and they are AMAZING:
Mine are named SKC, looks the same but are light blue! I like them a lot!
I’ve searched for duplicates, but haven’t found anything before.
I think it would be awesome. If all the hooks had the same size grip on them because your hand get used to using a certain size grip and if you have to go down smaller, it’s is like it’s not even there sometimes.
I vote for all the grips to be the same size, regardless the size of the hook!
I have a set of addi comfort but my favorite are my furls streamline
I use Susan bates metal hooks and plastic hooks mostly
Depends on the texture of the yarn but I prefer metal hooks and I don’t like in shaft hooks. My hooks are a hodgepodge of brands and types. I wish you well on your quest to find the hook that works best for you.
i get mine from the thrift store… + walmarts store brand. but a few years back i got pyrm knitting needles and I really wish i could get their crochet hooks to try cause i love the knitting needles… but its like 15 for the size i want
I use Clover Amour and Knit Picks Dots… I purchased the Addi (but didn’t really like them) I will give them another shot though ![]()
so I alternate between metal hooks, (they’re pretty good imo but your hands hurt after a while) and hooks with a plastic handle. I honestly recommend getting a hook that has a grip on it, but definitely test out different ones to find your style!
