I have a set of Boye aluminum hooks that I got with a crochet starter kit? And a set of Boye steel hooks? The ones that come in a zipper case.

I haven’t tried anything else but would like to someday

I use a wide variety of hooks my grandmother passed down! A few are plastic but most are metal and none are ergonomic :)

My best purchase has been a complete set of off brand hooks second hand from another lady. Didn’t even have to buy them honestly because she traded for a stuffy I made :joy:

They look like svarter hooks. But are heavier(?). They have good weight to them and are ergonomic.

I use a cheap metal set I had gotten off of Amazon years ago (they are in slash sizing)! I also was gifted some Woobles last christmas and love the grip on those

Warning, a lot of text!

I use different hooks, the pic show the ones I use the most, except the ones on the left that I don’t use much. When I started to crochet again I remembered that my hands used to hurt, so I bought a set of “generic” ergonomic hooks. I call them generic because I’ve seen the style of hook in several places. The blue one is a Pony, I got that first of the 3 I have in the same style, the red is a Myboshi. I also have another one bought from Novita (that’s actually the wrong size). I don’t use these much because they are too short to hold for me. I want them to be at least 16cm. I have a bunch of both named and unnamed hooks that are marked with the wrong size, now I measure everything! :joy: I’ve tried a couple of the popular hooks, but even if they were nice to crochet with, they were too short!

The ones on the right is the ones I like the most (in no particular order):

Addi for wool yarn (is named different on every site , works in every sort of yarn),

SKC (only sold in 1 webshop in Sweden),

Hobbii DuoTouch (2 sizes here, I’ve seen them sold with other names too),

Addi Swing (I only use the smaller size, the bigger don’t have enough space for thicker yarn, I’d like to get the Addi Swing Maxi that’s longer, but they are expensive).

I’ll surely try more hooks in the future, but at the moment this is enough!

(Edit: I forgot to say that I have an array of different hooks in most sizes that I don’t use!)

I have a couple of these, but they don’t like the yarn I mostly use! :joy: They are very nice to hold though!

I haven’t crochet much in wool yet, perhaps that will work better.

i love my steel hooks. I refuse to use plastic ones. I never lose my hooks so I COULD get expensive hooks but I choose not to since they all work the same. I have a huge kit of hooks from Boye. And the hook I use the most is a metal Susan bates hook with the soft handle from Micheal’s. But I even use old hooks from kits from when I was first starting as long as they’re metal:woman_shrugging:t4:

I often use furls which are a serious investment and I never dreamed I’d have as many as I do now however I have carpal tunnel and tendinitis so it’s a matter of comfort and longevity for me. But I also switch up hooks if the yarn is doing certain things etc. I also really love clover amour for certain kinds if yarn

I use sevensen Mimosa hooks for Amigurumi.

Everything else that I love:

Peach and Paige is #1

Susan Bates

Furls Streamline Metal

Peach and Paige comes with hook of your choice, can put name on it, has hook number on hook, and comes in 5 different hook styles for best fit. Yes, expensive, BUT has sales often, I never lose them easily due to size, and buying stuff gets you points which you use for a discount, and shipping is reasonable for $15 as they are in Australia.
