I need some help/tips 💗🙏

Hey lovely people of Ribblr, I have a question ( I actually need tips )
I want to use felt more often in my crochet projects, but I find it’s hard to get perfect circles/make the felt clean.
I’ve been sticking a pin needle through 2 pieces of felt to try and make them as symmetrical as I can, but sometimes it’s not good enough. Here are a few projects I made using felt for the eyes :eyes:

Not sure if this is bad, or good for my some of my first attempts, idk :person_shrugging::sob:

Im trying to stay away from saftey eyes, because they are just a hassle for me, and I personally like the look of embroiderd eyes, and felt eyes better. I also like the thought that it’s 100% hand made, and little children can’t really take the eyes out.
I’ve been using a craft glue for my felt eyes, but I’m not sure if I’m supposed to use a different type of glue, or just sew the felt on :person_shrugging:.

Thank you for reading this far!
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

maybe fold the felt in half, trace a half circle and cut that out? we did that the other day with papers at school

I don’t think they are that bad! Especially since its some of your first ones! But I do have some tips/solutions!

  1. You can use a hole punch to get perfect, replicates! I know some people use them! And if they can’t cut theough the felt, at least you have a circle template.
  2. Use cuticle scissors! They are more precise than normal scissors.
  3. I start out with equal squares as I find them much easier to match and then I start to trim away at the corners until they start to round out naturally. (So like trim the four corners, then trim the eight new corners and continue until they are smooth, the bigger the circle the more timming you will have to do)

Hope this helps!

I’ve tried that, but i always seem to loose the paper (like it moves out of place), and I’m cutting really small so its hard. thank you for your feedback!

That looks lovely, there are cricut machines that cut it for you but they are about $300 I think. Not sure how they spell cricket but i’m pretty sure that it is not ‘cricket’, it is more like cricut? Can’t remember.

Same, otherwise I would already have one :sob: But your hand cut felt looks totally perfect. Do you glue it on?

Thank you, and yes! I use some craft glue from hobby lobby. It’s kinda old though, been sitting in a sewing box for a couple years :rofl:

Okay I’ll try that! I was thinking you have to sew them on so I was out, but i’m okay with gluing

They look really good. I’ve never used felt before.

Yup! Here’s the glue I have, I just use a pin needle to apply the glue, and stick it on my project :pray:

It’s still four bucks online
