I have a friend let’s call her Rosie for the sake of privacy.
Rosie went through a tough time recently but she has reached the end of the tunnel. Here’s her story:
Rosie is what most would see as a typical girl: wears makeup, has a handful of friends and is obsessed with her boyfriend but despite all this, she was close to hitting rock bottom. She became too fixated on her friends and family to care for herself. Her mental health deteriorated severely but she couldn’t let anyone know because she would feel shameful and embarrassed. She stopped eating because she felt that she needed to lose weight to be popular and she developed an eating disorder which was detrimental to her health and wellbeing. She took all these cuts in her life that many appeared on her skin, her wrists were scarred and bloodied. Rosie came to me in her worst state and asked for help, which was very brave and with the help of her friends, we brought her to the light and she is happier and healthier than ever now.
I guess the moral of the story is this: don’t be afraid to ask for help. It does not make you weak, it makes you strong for having the courage to expose your most vulnerable parts because you don’t know what will happen. It takes courage to ask for help but it is worth it, I promise. Someone will be excited to see you on the other side, whether it be friends, family or even us, not a lot of us are associated in person but we care for eachother like family. You are not alone when you’re walking in the dark.
Sorry for the long post but someone needs to hear this. If anyone ever needs help, my DMs are open always and you can tell me anything, I won’t be creeped or grossed out, I have seen it all. I want to reach out a hand to people like Rosie because it is right
Wow, reminds me of the time i broke down in tears at a campfire cause i was lonely and had no friends, my councilor must have snitched to my mom because now she’s trying to get me into social events and she wven got a book on how to socialize, thx mom.
I’m happy that she told you what she felt. And I really hope that more people trust each other to tell them what they feel and to ask help.
Send some kisses from me and say that she is the strongest person in the world for asking help
And she’s also very strong for letting you tell this story online
