I'm new here :3

hihi!! recently (as in yesterday), I started crocheting, and I’m looking to get more into it ^^ I’m mostly interested in amigurumi stuff, and the only thing I’ve made so far is a blob with eyes (which should eventually become a pig), but I’m excited to see what else I can make as I get better at it ^^

generally, any advice for someone who’s new to this stuff? any tips would be much appreciated :3

hello!!!
welcome to ribblr!!!

wishing you the best of the best!!!

good luck on your crochet journey!!! (i love amigurumi too!!!)

a tip i have is to always use stitch markers as a beginner and a smaller hook to get tighter stitches!! also in addition, use light colored yarn so you can see the stitches!

some projects to try are bees, octopus, jellyfish or mini plushies

have a great wonderful day!!!

im @happylavie feel free to DM me anytime!!!

Step 1 - Learn the basics. This is the most important step when learning how to crochet.

Don’t start with amigurumi until you know how to crochet properly flat. You need to know how to chain, sc, hdc and dc to begin with.

Practice, practice, practice.

It takes time to learn a new skill, so be patient.

heya, welcome to ribblr! i’m peachy <3

as far as crochet related tips go, i’d suggest learning all basic stitches before you dive into written patterns; basic stitches would be sc, hdc, dc, inc, and dec (if you don’t know these abbreviations, look them up!)

i’d also suggest staying away from fluffy or black yarn as of now-acrylic yarn is cheap + very easy to see your stitches!

Welcome to Ribblr!! :ribbot-wave-tight: Learn the Magic Circle first before jumping into amigurumi! There are different ways to make it, so look at many videos before sticking to one. Also, there is a chain version if the magic ring becomes too difficult for now. Let us know if you have any questions!:sparkles:

Welcome to the Crochet Club! A few tips are using stitch markers, if you’re working with a plush yarn and you cant see your stitches easily, layer it with a worsted weight yarn and it should make seeing hr stitches easier and it wont show in your final make:grin:. One last tip is apply to simple tester calls once you feel a bit more confident in your crocheting because it will boost your experience:grin:

I hope you love crochet and feel free to dm me if you need anything:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
