is there a way to see how much karma points you have after finishing a test?
karma points are awarded for completing a test, you should already have a rough idea what that number is
Do you get one per test? I was also curious about this. (Im just jumping in, cause this post made me remember we got karma for tests) I scanned my profile and didnāt see it anywhere either. i mean yea I could have a rough idea now cause I just started, but what about a year from now? Id totally lose track eventually. I sesarched it and didnt see anything saying where you can find it.
Same. I searched it up and nothing came up for it.
but i dont ._.
hahahah Iād forget after a week Iām so bad at keeping track of things XD
Not yet but there will be more karma options in the future.
so your saying we cant see them? but if you were to need testers, then you as a pattern maker can see karma points?
ye i think that you cant see your own but the designer can see yours when you apply?
Iām just saying, if you are testing and you always finish and you got gifted the pattern, then you can assume you got points. Unless we start getting āyou have to have this many points to applyā there is no reason to know how many points you have⦠That would be rude BTW, because new people are never going to have a many points and you get points for small stuff too⦠Itās a marker of how many youāve competed, not the skill level you have attained
I agree but just like the karma helps pick testers, the other side is true too. If someoneās not giving karma when you complete the task youāre not gonna want to do another test for them. So itās probably why people would want to see.
Not to mention it gamifys the whole process which helps the site have people who want to test at all.
If they click the gift button in the testing, it gives you the points⦠A designer would have to go out of their way or be outside the ribblr testing in order to not give them. I donāt know how many points are given per click, but it is a single click that removes the tester gifts the pattern and assigns the point/points not a rating system
I do not know how many it gives, but it is a single click, not a rating. Just like we canāt take away points for not finishing, we canāt choose how many points are handed out per test⦠At least for now
Since it is a single click and the designer does not have any control over the amount given (at least for now), 25 simple patterns that take a day each will earn more points than one long hard test that took weeks or months to do. This is not a measure of worthiness , only your ability to finish.
See, that is the reply I needed. I donāt do patterns so I didnāt know thatās how karma worked. I assumed gifting the pattern and Karma were two separate buttons.
Also I didnāt assume it was worthiness only that I like tracking things and just thought there was a screen I couldnāt see or didnāt know about. But thatās just me.
Ahh good to know, after my last tests Iāve been put off and hadnāt tried it yet.
I am curious how the points work, as if it is to do with the gift button then I have not been awarded points on atleast 5 of my recent tests as 2 have removed me as a tester without gifting and 3 did not remove me nor gift and remove me. So i had to remove myselfā¦
Which is why i am interested in how it works. As I have tested I think 9 things since the karma points have been introduced all within the due date. All have journals and feedback was given
The feature release said it was tied to the gift and remove feature. That it all happens in one step.
From now on, folks are going to need to be more judicious about the test calls they reply to. It needs to be in ribblr, not pdf, and they need to specify that they will gift you the pattern upon completion.
Not you, personally, just in general. It seems that nobody is reading the details or instructions on anything before agreeing to it.
