So I have a market coming up in mid July, and I have absolutely no idea what to make
. I need idea pls, anything quick amigurumi I can crochet that sells well or is cute
Little things!! people LOVE little things, customizable things & ESPECIALLY fidget things!!! I also am preparing for a market of my own! One of my ideas is making a icecream bucket. (make icecream scoops and a cone with magnets inside so they can attatch & detatch, therfore making it customizeable!!) People can build their own bucket (use an old plastic icecream bucket) OR order icecram on a cone! I am using this pattern by @MayaPapaya7 :
loaf cats, leggy frogs, mini octos, chicks, just anything cute and cheap!
check out this post in the item ideas section:
There is a lot of helpful lists in the market prep space![]()
Ty everyone these are great ideas!
Oh that’s an amazing idea!! I love that so much, thank u for using my pattern <3
this one is soo cute and each takes me about 25-30 minutes!!
I have a list of crochet things that I usually make whenever I have markets:
∙⁺ . ∽ ৹ Keychains/Hangers ৹ ∼ ⁺∙
For keychains/hangers (2mm crochet hook) (have 1-2 parts so sew on/connect, besides the Lily of the Valley hangers which take a bit longer to assemble):
Mine probably didn’t sell extremely well due to my pricing. Using a smaller hook takes the same effort but results in a smaller piece, so if you want to make keychains, I recommend finding a pattern that either works up very quickly (none of these patterns are no-sew, mind you) or finding a keychain pattern that uses a bigger yarn since it will probably take less time and have less stitches, but will still result in a keychain-sized piece.
I made 15 of each keychain, and 4 of each hanger.
(Sorry I don’t have pictures of the hangers)
∙⁺ . ∽ ৹ Small Plushies ৹ ∼ ⁺∙
For small plushies (6.5mm crochet hook) (all no-sew):
- Octopi
- Mushroom Bois
- Chick (I made these for two markets, but I couldn’t find the pattern when I wanted to make them for the 2nd market so I wrote instructions for it based on my leftover chicks)
- Mallard (Same as chick, but with color changes)
If you’re interested in the instructions for the chick and mallard, let me know (or you could find a pattern online [probably wouldn’t be difficult lol])
I made 6-9 of each.
∙⁺ . ∽ ৹ Medium-Sized Plushies ৹ ∼ ⁺∙
For medium-sized plushies (6.5mm crochet hook) (no-sew/low-sew):
- Walrus (I’m assuming you want free patterns so I won’t add a link, but you can find the pattern in my shop [I made it because it’s my own pattern so I don’t have to pay lol])
- Bee
- Rubber ducky (I changed the way the beak was made because I didn’t like how it was in the original pattern, I can share the altered version if you’d like)
- Leggy frog (a staple of crochet amigurumi markets, lol)
I made 5-10 of each.
∙⁺ . ∽ ৹ Large Plushies ৹ ∼ ⁺∙
For large plushies (6.5mm crochet hook) (involve sewing):
I made 2 of each.
If you want, you could make a few large bees (I didn’t make these for any markets, but I was commissioned to make one after a customer saw the medium-sized ones and wanted a bigger one). I used this free pattern to make it (I did use a smaller hook size [6.5mm] than in the pattern).
∙⁺ . ∽ ৹ Extra ৹ ∼ ⁺∙
- I made some puff flower hair clips that sold well (work up quickly and look really cute, but you would need the clips to glue them onto). I made 5 sets of daisies and 5 sets of pink flowers with white inner circles.
- I made a few tiny turtles (used to be a paid pattern on my shop, but I privated it because I didn’t think it was worthy enough for the public ;-;). I didn’t end up putting them out to be sold during the market, though.
The small plushies I find are the fastest to make a lot of, and they also sell really well as you don’t have to worry about pricing (easy to make but with 6mm chenille yarn, they’re big enough to fit in your hand like a squishy, so you can price them as such).
The small plushies and medium-sized plushies sold the best for me. I nearly sold out of both, and I had made quite a few of them
I definitely should have made more rubber ducks though.
If you don’t know where to start, I recommend making rubber duck plushies, bee plushies, and literally any of the small plushies.
[DISCLAIMER]
What sells good/bad for me may not necessarily correlate with how it would sell for you, so please do not entirely base what you make off of what sold well for me, and please take my suggestions with a grain of salt.
Hope this helped!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that for the small plushies, I either embroidered or crocheted eyes on, making them safe for children (a plus since their size already indicates that that’s who they’re meant for).
Also, adding blush makes them much cuter lol.
This is so helpful thank you!
Yw! :)
Oooh!
• Triceratops
• Birds
• Mushrooms
• Sea creatures
• Cute food (avocado, banana…)
Hope this helps! ![]()
Tysm! The avocado is a great idea
