Ooh don’t forget the shoulder rest! You don’t need one if it feels comfortable without one but I recommend buying a shoulder rest! Hehe don’t forget the books lol,

The violin will probably come with strings so you don’t really need the strings unless it’s for either back up or you’re gonna change the strings entirely. Definitely gonna need the rosin or else… weird sounds lol

I play violin, Martial Arts and I also crochet, Violin is really not that hard and I stared violin wrong, my dad attempted to teach me my dad has no idea how to play.

youll also need a good quality bow and a grade 1 book unless you just want to skip, are you going to take lessons outside?

If you dont really want to go to a place i recommend not using youtube unless you have to and maybe take online courses or just go to lessons just to learn the basics

I wish you luck wuth ur new hobby :3

As a multi instrumentalist, be prepared for some techniques to possibly be shared. However, there’s also going to be things that are wildly different. The number one mistake will be trying to compare all instrument number one techniques to instrument number two. A second instrument by nature should be easier to learn, but it’s going to take just as much time and attention as the first.

yeah! i know, i wasnt trying to say “I know guitar and there pretty much the same so ill be fine a violin!” im just saying that since im good at guitar that there are similar qualities that will transfer! thank you do much for your feedback though! i appreciate any help i can get!

Oh no I didn’t mean that I thought that’s what you were thinking! I’m sorry for the confusion lol. I completely agree that those qualities will transfer. For the sake comparison, you’ll be playing two stringed instruments, so same family. I play three double reed instruments, so same family. My number one mistake was assuming everything or even many things would transfer, and ive since had to go back and correct a bunch of stuff. I was not accusing you of that mindset, I just wanted to make sure you don’t get that mindset because it’s a huge pain to fix
