Hewo everyone!
I am going to start posting a monthly book wrap-up just for fun, and it will include my tbr, how much I read this month, how much I want to read next month, what books I bought, and the ratings of the books I read this month.
Letâs start!
Ok, so my current read is This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger, I will most likely finish it today.
My next read is Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins! (yes I have read the Hunger Games series before, I am just re-reading it)
My TBR has thirty-one physical books, some of which are re-reads.
Here they all are in order! (if you want the author, pls just ask!)
Catching Fire
Mockingjay
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (TBOSAS)
The Matched Trilogy (three books)
Oliver Twist
The Great Gatsby
The Harbinger I and II (two books)
Pictures of Hollis Woods
White Dolphin
Unshaken
A Voice In The Wind
The Lost City of Z
Where Coyotes Howl
When We Were Vikings
Sea of Tranquility
A Thousand Splendid Suns
Heartless
They Called Her Mrs. Doc
Promise Me Tomorrow
A Garden to Keep
Unbroken
The Invention of Wings
The House on The Irish Hillside
The Knitting Circle
Lights on The Sea
The Book of Lost Names
Lock and Key
Honor
I hope to be able to finish the rest of the Hunger Games series, the Matched Trilogy, and Oliver Twist before the end of March, but I do know that itâs a big goal for me!
I read nine books this month, all of which are listed below with ratings!
- Bridge to Terabithia (I read this one twice this month)
5/5 this book completely broke me and made me cry so much!
Itâs an amazing middle grade novel about a boy who befriends the new girl in his school and they make up an extensive imaginary kingdom called Terabithia. - Love & Gelato
3/5 decent book, there is a lot of drama, but the book is basically about a girl moving to Italy after her motherâs death while uncovering a lot of family secrets, and navigating her feelings for a new friend. Iâm going to try the second book in the series, but probably wonât get the third one. - The Problem with Forever
1/5 I rlly did not enjoy this book for some reason, it felt like the only reason I liked the main character, Mallory, was because of all the things she had been through. I also didnât rlly like Rider, and I actually quit the book after the spice scene, just bc I donât read spice and was told this book didnât have spice, so donât count this as a total rating, but for me this book was just unsavable. - Pride and Prejudice
3/5 I mean, itâs a classic, so you know it might be boring, but I rlly did like Mr. Darcy from the very beginning and I rlly want to read more of Jane Austenâs books! The story follows a family of four daughters navigating marriages, elopements, drama, etc. - Surviving Antartica
4/5 this book was amazing, reminding me of the Hunger Games, but not in a bad, plagiarized way! I was so hooked on the kidsâ story, and even though I hated Billy, I was happy for all of them in the end! The book is about kids who have to survive a trip through Antartica that is going to be a reality TV show. - A House of Tailors
3/5 the main character was likable enough, but it just felt like she kept doing things she shouldnât have. Mildly annoying, but the book is about a girl that has a whole family of tailors but hates sewing, so she moves to America with her uncle, only to find out that he, too, is a tailor. I will say though, that I finished this book in a day. - Peak
2/5 A story based on true events of the youngest climber to ever top Mount Everest. I liked it, but there was so much drama and secrecy going on that it was a tiny bit hard to enjoy, and the stakes just didnât feel high enough for me. - An Isreali Love Story
2/5 I enjoyed it mildly, but the relationship was kinda unrealistic and it felt some of the time like I was reading straight from a Biblical explanation book. The story is about the two main characters falling in love amid all the things going on in Isreal and how they navigate being confronted by a missionary.
I bought most of the books on my TBR except for Heartless and the rest of the Hunger Games series last month.
Pls note that these are just my personal opinions, and I hope you enjoyed!
Also, pls feel free to share your February book wrap-up in the comments, donât be shy!
And the #1 book I read this month would have to go to Bridge of Terabithia!
Tysm everyone and happy crafting/reading! -Yani
