I caught this frog and I’m keeping him as a pet what should I name him?

make sure you take good care of him! i used to catch frogs all the time but i never kept them because its a little cruel to take them from their outside lives and put them in a cage. i’m sure you’ll do your best to give him a good life though!
edit: also, i think he’s a toad lol

In many places it’s illegal to capture wildlife and keep them as pets. Amphibians are also take a lot more work than you’d expect, so please please please check with your local laws to make sure it’s not illegal and do your research on how to properly care for them if it’s not.

So cute! remember frogs are living beings and deserve a good quality life which would preferably be their natural habitat. Personally I don’t think frogs make great pets as they are wild animals and have not been domesticated. they also cannot be handled much as our natural oils are very harmful to them and they also get super stressed by our body heat. They also require quite a few other things to keep them happy so I recommend preparing (tank, food etc) and researching before actually getting a frog. From the picture the frog appears to actually be a toad I might be wrong tho. Toads are quite similar to frogs in terms of what I said above but they are slightly different. All toads are poisonous. Most are mild but some are highly toxic. I recommend researching the type of toad you have because it is important to understand what exactly you have and how you can care for it. This is all based on my general knowledge of toads and frogs and I have never had a frog as a pet before (as I believe it is a bit cruel) so please just fact check what I have said before you take my word for it.
I am sure you will take great care of this cute dude but just remember what you are making it sacrifice (it natural habitat) for your enjoyment/entertainment

I know you have good intentions with this frog, but please understand that a wild caught frog is very different from a captive bred one. They are not used to being raised by humans and can be very difficult to care for. They typically refuse to eat and have specific requirements that can be hard to meet in captivity. If you do keep this frog, please do lots of research about his specific species and provide the most natural habitat you can for him. Unfortunately, however, my recommendation would be to release him. That would be the kindest thing you could do for him. Best of luck 
Also, if you do want to own a frog in the future, there are many great options in pet stores. Those frogs are more used to captivity and will adapt better to your care

You should actually return him to where you found him.
It’s not fair to keep a wild animal in captivity. 
In many places you actually need a permit to keep frogs.
They need a specific environment in which to live and appropriate food.
Please do the right thing and release him back to where you found him.

Aw he is really cute but i dont think u should keep him given he is a living creature who should be outside where he’ll do best and amphibians do require a lot of care so just be careful. And also please thoroughly consider releasing him

Thank you for your care and attention to the frog I asked a nearby pet store they said it’s ok to take care of him 
That’s not what @Merlin1 was saying.
The frog you caught is a WILD frog and MUST be returned to it’s NATIVE environment IMMEDIATELY (if you haven’t already killed it).
If you want to keep a frog as a pet, you need to go to an authorised breeder/seller where they can provide you with the appropriate enclosure, food and instructions on how to care for one.
Looking after these creatures is not as easy as you think.
Pet stores don’t know the first thing about looking after amphibians. They are just sales people.

I already released it and put it back in its normal environment thank you guys for caring for it…I got a new frog from a pet store
