I am making a doll for my grand daughter and I want to write something on the t-shirt. I thought if I use 100% wool to write it out, I could needle felt it on. But, I’m not making the shirt with wool. I’m using acrylic. Has anyone done this? Will it work?

Although I have never done lettering, I have brushed out acrylic yarn and used it to felt on a plushie before! I recommend a slicker brush.

What yarn was your plushie made with? This gives me hope. I do have wool yarn I can use, but more color options available to me now with this option.

It was made with acrylic yarn! I don’t have any pictures to show you, unfortunately. It is a little harder than with wool, though, as the felting holes like to show themselves if you are doing large areas, requiring many layers. But if you are just doing letters, it should be simpler.
