new term?

hi people :3

So you guys know how there’s a bit of debate about whether kids born in 2010-2011 are gen alpha or gen z? What if we call those people born in the sort of overlap gen zalpha (pronounced zal-fa)

Naw there are alpha
All the kids I’ve meet that age act like alpha and generally are especially the boys

I don’t think I act like alphas but I am from 2010 :) idk what the name should be :joy:

yeah, a lot of people born 2010/11 do not act like the younger kids at all

really? I think there’s a difference between the way kids born 2010/11 act and the way kids born after 2011 act

Yea after the 2000s ended a new age should have started so 2010 or 2011 are alpha
I have no clue why I have such a passion lol

lol, don’t worry :). it’s just gen alpha (from what I’ve seen) seems to normally be associated with brain rot & general stupidity for some reason (I don’t even get how/why that association happened), and people don’t want to be associated with that

I won’t specify too much cause you know age stuff. But I’m in that gap. I get bugged by people who are 2010 (sometimes) and 2009 who act like they’re a whole different generation. But I think boys with brain rot find it funny where as Gen Alpha is a little more serious about it.

Also I feel like Gen Z did not grow up as IPad kids as much but Gen Alpha did and I grew up with a lot of classic shows that Gen Alpha doesn’t experience or are getting the rebooted versions that like let’s be honest are kinda trash. I saw a commercial for new Winnie the Pooh today and Eeyore was so different I was like ain’t no way. :sob:

I personally group myself with Gen Z because Alpha is wild and I personally don’t feel like Gen Alpha. But yeah.

But that’s part of my thinking if that makes sense.

Mhm, I agree. When I say brain rot, I do it as a joke, to make my friends go ā€œoh my god, why would you say thatā€ and laugh. And sure, I also say brain rot in place of curse words occasionally, but that’s also for the ā€œwhy :sob:ā€ reaction from my friends.

Actually, does anyone use brain rot ā€˜seriously?’

I use it seriously when complaining about so called ā€œ serviceā€ from people who should know employees.
The general answer is ā€œ I don’t knowā€ and makes no effort to find out either.

I think that it’s kinda unfair for 2010, 2011 and 2012 to call them alpha/zalpha because when I meet in school some gen alphas, they’re terrible but I also know 2010,2011 and 2012 gen z and they’re chill, just like 2009-2007, so Idk.

As someone who was born in 2010 I would honestly say that we are mostly gen alpha. We ridnt grow up as ipad kids and also grew up with the same wonderful kids shows as gen z. (Rio, how to train your dragon, barbie life in the dreamhouse, I could go on.) We also treat brainrot like it is a total joke, rather than a lifestyle. So yeah. Probably gen z.

Definitely gen Z. As someone born before 2010, I’m definitely gen alpha… The amount of 11-15 year olds I hear doing the whole ā€˜brainrot’ and ā€˜skibdi’ thing is obnoxious
